  • Details of Disappearance
    James Pearce was last seen in the Grafton area on October 5th, 1999. On the 8th of October, 1999 his 1949 pink Dodge pick up truck was located at the Cobourg train station parking lot. Foul play is strongly suspected in the disappearance of Mr. Pearce. Law enforcement suspect that Pearce's remains may be located in the Oshawa to Trenton corridor.

    Gordon Carl Smith, an acquaintance of Pearce's, was found murdered on September 20, 2000 in a wooded area west of Castleton in Haldimand Township. He had recently been released from jail and was only missing a few days before he was discovered deceased. Law enforcement has yet to confirm the two cases are related.
