Details of Disappearance
On Sunday April 18, 1976, at approximately 12:00 P.M., Gary Michael Pinkey departed his residence in Fort Churchill, Manitoba on his snowmobile. He was destined for the Hudson Bay and had planned to return home that same evening. On April 19, 1976 at approximately 8:00 A.M., Helen Pinkeney contacted the Churchill RCMP Detachment and reported that her husband had not yet returned home. Extensive searches were done of the area by land and by air for several days with negative results. The remains of Pinkney have not been located and given his intended route, it is presumed that he drowned.
