Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Charlotte Pollis was last seen at her home in Girard, Ohio on March 12, 1994. Charlotte was sick the day before she disappeared. That night, her husband Paul took Charlotte to the hospital. Paul's parents looked after the couple's two children meanwhile. Charlotte had an acute ear infection marked by pain and dizziness. After Paul's parents left, Charlotte phoned her mother at 1:25 AM. That was the last time anyone outside the home heard from Charlotte.
According to Paul, he last saw Charlotte about 11:00 o'clock on the next day, before he left with the children to run some errands. Charlotte was supposed to stay in bed. Charlotte's mother called several times that day without being able to get ahold of her daughter. Paul said he returned home with the children at around 4:00 PM, but Charlotte wasn't there. At 7:30 he noticed her purse was still in the house and started to make calls, trying to locate Charlotte.
Paul agreed to take a polygraph test, but instead disappeared for three months.
In 2009, Pollis was sentenced to jail for 18 months after testing positive for cocaine and failing to report to his probation officer.
In 2005, Pollis was placed on probation for carrying a concealed weapon.
Charlotte Pollis has never been found. Investigators have said they believe they know who is responsible, but they have never been able to gather enough evidence to prove it.
