  • Details of Disappearance
Procopio left her job at Quality Value Network (QVC) in West Chester, Pennsylvania at approximately 5:10 PM on September 24, 1999. She planned to go shopping after her work day ended. Procopio was last seen in the vicinity of Newtown Square Shopping Center at Route 13 and Route 252 at approximately 7:00 PM that evening.

Procopio's red 1990 Pontiac Sunbird coupe was discovered abandoned in the 200 block of Front Street in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania nearly two weeks after she disappeared. An extensive search of the area produced no clues as to Procopio's whereabouts.

The key suspect in her disappearance is her fiance, Andrew Charles Thomas. He shot himself in 2012 after he killed a police officer. He was on probation for theft and had assaulted a police in his past. Thomas was never charged in Procopio's disappearance but he did serve time for other crimes. He served about 18 months after pleading guilty to simple assault and a separate forgery charge in 2000. While questioning Thomas about Procopio’s disappearance police say they uncovered an alleged counterfeiting operation in Thomas’ home. Thomas used up to 40 different aliases and social security numbers during his life. Thomas eventually went to federal prison for counterfeiting, denying any knowledge of Procopio's disappearance. He continued to deny any involvement even after video of a man, resembling Thomas, was seen using her ATM card in the days after she disappeared.

Precopio had in her possession a 1-carat diamond ring with marquis, round and baguette stones. The ring has not been recovered.
