  • Details of Disappearance
Police suspect that Cédrika Provencher, a nine year old girl from Trois Riviere, Quebec, was abducted at approximately 8 pm on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 by a man identified by other neighbourhood children as being white and between the ages of 30 and 60. He had previously asked the other children for help in finding a lost dog and Cedrika had been looking for a lost black or black and white dog although she did not have a dog of her own. Her bicycle and bicycle helmet were later found, abandoned. Two women reported seeing Cedrika riding around the neighbourhood on two occasions between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. She stopped to ask them both if they had seen a little black dog. Cedrika doesn't own a dog, and Letarte said one question police were asking themselves was why the girl might be looking for the animal. But Martin Provencher, Cedrika's father, said if someone had asked his daughter to help search for a lost pet, she would have obliged. Investigators said teens found her bike abandoned on a street around 8:30 p.m. that same evening.
