Details of Disappearance
Reamer's girlfriend dropped him off at his apartment on Wilder Street in Helena, Sunday, March 27, 1994. He had spent the weekend with her and their young son. She claimed there was an unknown male at his apartment when she dropped him off.
The next morning the girlfriend claimed to have spoken to Reamer on the phone before he left for class at Carroll College. A neighbor remembered seeing him on the night of the 27th, but he didn't come over for breakfast the morning of the 28th as planned.
Reamer was initially reported missing on April 4, 1994. Items remaining behind in his apartment were all his personal belongings including his billfold, bicycle, and school books. His vehicle remained parked outside the apartment. His favorite cowboy hat was missing.
Reamer was under state supervision at the time of his disappearance in connection with a 1992 assault that occurred in Manhatten, MT. Reamer was facing a return to jail on his original felony assault charge after an arrest for DUI several months before his disappearance. Reamer used to work on fishing boats up in Unalaska, Alaska and construction in Helena until he injured his back.
