  • Details of Disappearance
    Rediess is missing at sea on February 1, 1972. The S.S.V.A FOGG had 39 men aboard when she went missing, 30 miles south of Brazorio County, Texas. The V.A. Fogg, loaded with benzene and xylene in some tanks, and cleaning other tanks, was enroute from Freeport to Texas City when she blew apart in a tremendous explosion on February l, 1972. It took three days with a number of ships searching for the Fogg and her missing crew before she was located.
