Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Robertson left a private airstrip on March 1, 2012 in a friend's Cessna plane. He departed with about 25 to 30 gallons of fuel on-board and proceeded to fly over the Atlantic Ocean. About 23 minutes after takeoff, the airplane was lost from radar about 34 nautical miles east-southeast of the departure airport. The plane went down twenty five miles East of Boca Raton, Fl. The pilotís body and the airplane wreckage have not been located.
He was depressed and had financial problems at the time. Robertson left all his belongings behind. The investigation considered the possibilities of pilot impairment/incapacitation and suicide; however, the lack of physical evidence made such a determination impossible.
