  • Details of Disappearance
Ms. Schell went for a day hike alone in Saguaro National Park. Schell was last seen as she left to hike the Tanque Verde Ridge Trail in the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson. It was a hike she failed to complete during a previous attempt. She was carrying a couple of water bottles, some snacks, a few extra pieces of clothing, cigarettes, lipstick and cough drops.

When she did not return, her family reported her missing. Her car was found parked in the trailhead lot, her wallet, money and jewelry were locked in the trunk. An extensive search failed to locate Ms. Shell.

She worked at Jason's Deli on Broadway Boulevard at the time and lived with her parents, Joyce and Lee Emmons.
