  • Distinguishing Characteristics: Dime sized mole on her back between
    shoulder blades. Small mole 1/2 inch from navel. Single ear piercings.
  • Clothing: A light blue slip-on sweater with white trim, a dark sky
    blue windbreaker with a hood trimmed in white zipper front with a thin white
    lining, and medium brown corduroy pants.
  • Jewelry: Tiny pierced earrings, a silver ring with a tiny diamond,
    and a yellow gold necklace with a one inch cross.

  • Details of Disappearance
    Cheryl Scherer was reported missing from her work, at the Rhodes Pump-Ur-Own self service gas station on Main Street, a half mile off interstate 55. An off-duty attendant saw her about 11:30 a.m. but returned a few minutes later to find her gone.
    Over $400 was missing from the business, over $100 was left at the business.

    Her car, keys, and purse were left at the business.

    It happened yards from the busiest street in Scott City and yet there were no witnesses. A normally busy grocery store right next to the gas station happened to be closed that day.
