Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Mr. Corey Nolan Smith was last seen on June 18, 2009 in Jasper, Alabama. Smith lived at 189 Drummond Switch Cut-Off Road in the Walker County town of Empire before his disappearance. He was last seen on June 18, 2009 when he stopped by to see his uncle. He told him he was going to the home of a man who owed him money, and he was going straighten it out. His friends, family and young son never saw him again. Smith's family, most of them in Tennessee, filed a missing persons report with the Walker County Sheriff's Office in May the following year.
In June 2012, investigators got new information that led them believe evidence in the case might be found at or around a home on Stacks Bottom Road in Empire. In that probe, a cadaver dog team hit on certain spots on the property. Evidence was collected, but authorities haven't disclosed the nature of that evidence. Foul Play is believed to be involved in his disappearance.
