Details of Disappearance
It is believed Charles left his residence on foot between 10am - 2pm may have been seen walking in the vicinity of the 39 block of Halls Corner Rd., in Belmont. It is not uncommon for him to walk very long distances. Although he was at a stage in his illness where he could become confused, he still insisted on his independence and it was not uncommon for him to take a daily walk alone; going a fair distance from his home. On this particular day, he was upset about being unable to obtain his license to drive again (due to the dementia); so he may have had intentions of 'leaving home'. He had spoken of doing just that earlier that week. He was limited in communication skills and clear thinking, so he could easily have become confused and gotten lost in the Maine woods (or any location he may have traveled to)--if he wandered from the road. Weather conditions for 1-2 days: Rainy, cold (30s).
