Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Edward was reported missing on June 30, 2005. In 2003, Edward left his wife and child in Brooklyn to explore a "New Age" lifestyle. He occasionally lived in his car in Spencer, but was living with roomates in a home in late June 2005. He left behind all of his possessions, including his car. Inside his car were his license, postal service ID, photographs of his child, medication for a skin condition, and his collection of minerals that had special meaning to him. Sometime during the last week of June 2005, Edward told a neighbor that he had to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles in Ithaca to turn in the license plates of his car because he no longer had car insurance. He never made it to the DMV. There has been no activity from Tandler's cellular telephone or his credit cards. Edward was an acquaintance of Abraham Shorey, AKA "The Collegetown Creeper". He was acting as a protector of Shorey's fiancee and her six children. It is unknown what, if anything, Shorey may have had to do with Edward's disappearance.
