Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Xavier Tarrand was last seen on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at approximately 4:30pm at the RaceTrac Gas Station in Groveland, getting into a black Honda.
He told his cousin he had something to do. He then called his cousin 30 minutes later and asked him to pick him back up at the same gas station in three minutes, but he never returned. Calls to Tarrand’s cell phone went straight to voice mail. Xavier was a resident of Mascotte at the time. According to his mother, Xavier had been in trouble with the law before, but had started to shape up at the time of his disappearance. She did add she believes her son may have been taken against his will and shot.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case and have visited Apopka at least once to examine an alleged stolen vehicle that was recovered and suspected of being associated with Xavier’s disappearance. The car was found burned at a landfill under suspicious circumstances. Bullet holes were found in the vehicle.
Foul play is suspected.
