  • Details of Disappearance
On September 3, 1994, Deborah Taylor, a native of Brooklyn, and her boyfriend, Richard Ablansky, a 39-year-old engineer who lived in New Milford, N.J. left Virginia Beach en route to Fairfax, Virginia.

On September 10, Mr. Alblamsky left a Virginia motel room, where he had been staying Deborah Taylor, whom investigators described as his mistress for nine years. New York City investigators said they believed Mr. Ablamsky had killed Deborah Taylor, who has been missing since the couple's motel visit. Her body has not been found.

Richard Ablamsky committed suicide on September 16 in Garden City, New Jersey. Mr. Ablamsky, who is survived by a wife and two young children, shot himself in the head in the Long Island home of John Dionisio, his former supervisor. The suicide, in an upstairs bedroom, occurred minutes after he had broken into the house, forcing Mr. Dionisio's wife and 11-year-old son to flee in terror, and used lighter fluid to set part of the ground floor ablaze.
