  • Details of Disappearance
Aarone was last seen near her home. Her father, Aaron Thompson, claims she went missing after he told her not
to have another cookie. Investigators believe Aarone may have been killed a year ago. A check with school officials showed that she had not been enrolled in school. Further suspicions were raised when the father would not participate in the search nor allow police to search certain rooms of the house. The father also did not give permission nor allow his other children to be interviewed. At this time Aarone's remains have not been found but the police have declared this a homicide investigation. The father and his live-in girlfriend, Shely Mary Lowe, are being considered "persons of interest".
The father has been charged with child abuse resulting in death and was sentenced to 114 years in prison in 2009.
For years, he told police that she had run away because of an argument over a cookie, but then admitted at the start of his trial that his daughter was dead. Aaaron Thompson was found guilty on 31 counts ranging from conspiracy to commit child abuse, false reporting to authorities, concealing death, conspiracy to conceal death, child abuse resulting in injury and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
