  • Details of Disappearance
Ramon was last seen at approximately 8:00pm at his residence near the 1100 block of Rayo Street in Alice, TX. He left his home to go to the store with his brother-in-law, Juan Ramon Suarez.

He was last seen getting into an an early 1980's white Ford pickup truck with TX license plates. The truck was later located abandoned at the Alice Police Department.

Suarez was admitted to a local hospital later that night with a gunshot wound to his chest, which he told deputies he accidentally inflicted on himself. Suarez later changed his story and said Vasquez shot him, and he then struck Vasquez in the head or neck and left him on the side of a road off County Road 236.

At the time of the investigation, Jim Wells County deputies worked along side with FBI and the Texas Ranger Division along with the Alice Police Department. Over the many years, individuals have been questioned and foot and aerial searches have been conducted and have dug areas where they believed he might have been located or last seen. Law enforcement have searched a number of locations for Vasquez's body all over the county, and have heard many rumors about where he might be buried.
