  • Details of Disappearance
Vest was last seen in Idaho Falls, Idaho during the early morning hours of June 2, 1999. He played a weekly trivia game at the Frosty Gator with friends, then walked to the Golden Crown Lounge on Shoup Avenue for a nightcap. He disappeared while walking back to the residence he shared with his mother. Vest has never been heard from again.

Vest is an authority on spider, snake and plant poisons. Only days before his disappearance, Vest had notified his sister, Rebecca, that a business based in Portland, Ore., was interested in selling the hobo spider trap kits he had invented. The deal that was signed has the potential to be lucrative.

Darwin was declared legally dead the first week of March 2004. DNA is available. Police and family members believe foul play was involved in his disappearance.
