In early March 2008, Joseph "Joe" Watson experienced a drug relapse whilst waiting for a flight to Mexico. After reportedly experiencing "bizarre" behaviour
from the drugs, Joe was sanctioned under the Mental Health Act and taken to St. Paul's Hospital. However, Joe managed to leave the hospital while
unsupervised. Later on that day, a motorist on the Port Mann Bridge saw a man in a rented truck slam on his brakes while heading east on the bridge,
causing an accident. The man then got out of his vehicle and jumped over the side of the bridge. A rental contact signed by Joe Watson and a suicide note
was found in the vehicle. To date, Joe had not been found.
