  • Details of Disappearance
    Cynthia was last seen approximately 12:00 p.m. at her residence in the vicinity of the 700 block of 11th Avenue in Fulton, IL. She left the residence sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. that day.

    She left everything behind, her car, her wallet, even her jacket that she’d placed on the back of a chair in her apartment.

    At 10:30 p.m., there was a fire in Wilkins' apartment. Fulton police and firefighters spent hours March 9 and 10 searching the apartment building rubble at 702 11th Avenue, and sent in search dogs to track Wilkins’ scent. They found nothing inside, but the search dogs followed Wilkins’ scent through downtown Fulton to the Mississippi River, near the foot of the North Bridge to Iowa.
