  • Details of Disappearance
On January 29th, 1957 Humphrey Wilkinson was reported missing. He had not shown up for work at a Vancouver box factory since January 23rd, 1957.

At the time he went missing, Wilkinson lived in North Surrey and worked as a carpenter for Martin Paper Co. in New Westminster. He was last seen at his workplace on January 23, 1957 and failed to pick up his last paycheque. Wilkinson was also a part-time commercial fisherman and liked to dress in expensive clothing. As well, he was an avid cartoonist. Wilkinson lived by himself in North Surrey with his dog. He left his wallet and identification at his home, but police determined his rifle and his dog were missing from the house.

Wilkinson's family has been seeking information on Wilkinson's whereabouts ever since he disappeared. The investigation revealed that Wilkinson had wanted to travel around the world, and that he had wanted to find a job in Cache Creek, B.C., but those clues led to a dead end. Police have determined he did not join the Canadian Army or contact any employment agencies about seeking work outside the Lower Mainland.
