Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Ms. Williams was last seen hitchhiking on Wood Islands Hill in Montague, P.E.I on August 6, 1962. On Aug. 6, 1962, Eileen's aunt drove her from her parents' house to the town of Montague, which has a population of about 2,000. She told her aunt she was going to a jewelry store and to visit some friends. If she didn't return home that night, she'd be staying in town for a few days. She was wearing rings and other pieces of jewelry and had $10 in cash. At about 7:00 pm three people, including a young RCMP officer, saw her hitchhiking near a marshy area outside of town. She was about 30 kilometres from home and standing at a spot where the highway splits. A massive search of the area between Montague and Beach Point failed to turn up a single clue about the missing woman.
