Vital Statistics at Time of Disappearance
Details of Disappearance
Tabbetha Kay Worford was last seen on a Saturday night, May 5, 1990, at her residence at Fairfield Village Apartments in the area of West Jackson Street and North Fairfield Drive in Pensacola. After talking to her sister the night before, Worford disappeared from her apartment the next day. She was a 19-year-old single mother, with a new job, a new apartment, and a 15-month-old son. According to her mother, she wanted help from the man she insisted was her son's father, her married former boss, and was pushing for child support. Her baby was found on a woman's doorstep nearby.
Escambia Sheriff's investigators talked to the former boss twice after Tabbetha disappeared, but he denies knowing anything at all about her disappearance. He also denies that Tabbetha's child is his, and refused to take a paternity test. Investigators have never ruled him out as a suspect.
Tabbetha is believed to have been the victim of violence.
